Awful for newborns!

My little boy is 3 weeks old & im disappointed with this car seat already. The head support is non-existent & no matter what I do I cannot get any sort of support for him.
I’ve also noticed that the straps do not sit above or on his shoulders but are pretty much behind him. They don’t go any higher. I’m thinking I need to take the newborn insert out already but he isn’t even 60cm yet and is still too small not to have it in.
Regretting buying this car seat now and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Heavy and difficult to remove from pram.

We purchased this model at the Baby Show Birmingham (2024) as it was compatible with the pramwe had purchased alongisde it. It is also compatible with many other models of pram by different manufacturers. So we thought this was the best option.
We were wrong.
After 4 months of use and comparing it to friends who have other models. We’ve found, it’s disappointingly heavy (even without a baby in it).
To remove the seat from a pram there are two buttons that need to be pressed simultaneously whilst removing from the pram.. nearly impossible to do with a baby inside. I have to do this for my partner and our parents as there hands are too small to do this. A flawed design a few other friends have struggled with too.

We got the gorgeous green seat to match. It quickly becomes the aesthetic we went for with our travel system. I am usually someone who likes to pick things apart and find issues. This seat is flawless. If they did adult ones I'd be confident it would handle any rally stage globally haha. As a bloke you can strap the kid in and confidently say to yourself, "yep, that's not going anywhere"

Safety Issue

We purchased this car seat approximately 8 months ago. At first we were very happy.
However, recently we have noticed a serious safety issue with the seat. When our baby kicks, he is managing to catch the button to loosen the straps. We first noticed this when we were out for a walk one day, however, since then he has also managed to do it whilst in the car! Thankfully when in the car, the straps were inly slightly loosened, but this could cause a very serious issue if we had a collision.
We are now having to look at purchasing a new seat when our baby is only 6 months old. I would not recommend this seat anymore.

Unfortunately, children escaping their car seats is an issue that sometimes occurs with children of a certain age, across all brands of car seats. We can offer you some general advice and guidelines to try and help resolve this issue, as we understand your concerns for safety.
Firstly, we would recommend checking out http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/choosing-using/children-undoing-their-harness/ this has been developed specially by RoSPA, the governments Think! Road Safety campaign and the UK Child Car Seat Organisation and this offers handy hints and tips for methods to discourage your child from trying to get out of the car seat harness.
In the United Kingdom and Europe, legislation dictates that car seats are manufactured to have a "one click release" harness so that the child can be released as quickly and safely as possible in the event of an accident. As a result of this, we are very limited in what components can be used in the buckle mechanism and the level of pressure needed to undo the button. Maxi Cosi manufacture their seats to be at the maximum pressure required in compliance with the guidelines and therefore if a child has learnt how to undo the buckle, there is very little we can do. We would never recommend covering the buckle in any circumstance.
We do have some tips that can help:
- Don't strap your little one in with a winter jacket or too many layers
- Tighten the straps well, there should be a maximum of 1 cm between the straps and your little one
- Make sure that the straps run straight over the shoulders
- Don't forget to tighten the lap belts as well, this is often forgotten

Bad head support for newborn! Avoid!

I got this as it was RECOMMENDED to me by a family member who had used this for their 3 month +. I have recently had my baby born in late june. We have had nothing but issues with head support for my baby to the point im having to hold her head while my partner drives. We have changed the height of straps and tried other options to try give our baby more head support but there is none at all due to the wide space. The newborn insert also does not sit fully back on the head oart which i have tried pushing down to keep it down but this does not work. Im very DISAPPOINTED about this car seat as i was told it was the safest one to get. Now i am anxious every time we need to travel somewhere. If i could return i would.

The seat inclination in vehicles may influence the lying position of the baby car seat, as it is unfortunately impossible for us to adapt our products 100% to all existing car models. Do double-check the incline of your vehicle seat as this can result in the child being pushed into a more upright position, even when the seat is reclined fully.
